iLASIK
Department of Defense and NASA have experimented and have found out that the present LASIK has passed every safety and standards. LASIK operation is done to remove the extra growth on cornea. There are 3 basic steps followed in a LASIK surgery :
1. Creation of a flap of corneal tissue
2. Remodeling of the cornea underneath the flap
3. Flap is then repositioned.
iLasik procedure uses 2 lasers instead of traditional 1 laser. The first step involves the mapping of unique characteristics of an individual eyes, then an ultra fast computer guided laser is used for the creation of corneal flap. The second laser is used for vision correction with the guidance of wave-front mapping data. This according to reports provides clear vision and is considered the safest.
In one of the surveys conducted in the military over 95% achieved 20/20 uncorrected vision or even better. Check out here for LASIK information. There are however certain caution that must be exercised before going for this surgery as of being over 21 years of age with at least 1 year of clear vision in good health with no eye infections.
